How Much Testosterone Will I Need For Treatment?

Each patient is an individual with a unique experience. The dose of the testosterone you will be prescribed will be determined by several factors. To determine the therapeutically effective dose for you and your needs, the Medical Provider will inquire about your symptoms and health history and draw blood for lab testing to determine your candidacy for Testosterone Replacement Therapy. Because of potential risks and side effects of testosterone therapy, your Medical Provider will want to make sure you are safe on testosterone therapy and will want to monitor your testosterone levels in addition to other labs and symptoms. Your Provider will make any necessary adjustments based on your reports and additional testing. Therefore, your exact dosage will be determined only after a consultation and evaluation with the Medical Provider and the treatment plan will be adjusted, as needed.

Testosterone Replacement Therapy Results

Many men report feeling like a totally different person within a few weeks after they begin hormone replacement. Most men report feeling more energized, having more sexual interest and improved sexual performance, gaining enhanced strength, and experiencing improved well-being, overall. You may experience an increase in sex drive as soon as 3 weeks after treatment. You may notice an improvement of mood between 3-6 weeks. Enhancement of muscle mass and strength may be evident at around 12 weeks. Given the vital role testosterone plays in red blood cell production, fat storage, muscle mass, and mental health, testosterone replacement therapy can be a great tool for men to improve their quality of life.

What are the Side Effects of Testosterone Replacement Therapy?

Testosterone Replacement Therapy is tailored to the individual patient; therefore, each treatment plan is unique to the patient who is receiving treatment. During your appointment your Practitioner will discuss the benefits and risks of Testosterone Replacement Therapy. Treatment plans are based on your unique presentation of body chemistry, symptoms, and medical history.

How Much Does Testosterone Replacement Therapy Cost?

Since your treatment plan is tailored to you and your goals, the cost for Testosterone Replacement Therapy will also be unique to you. After your private consultation, you will be provided with a breakdown of costs for your treatment based on your specified plan. Unfortunately, most insurance doesn’t cover male hormone replacement therapy. However, insurance often covers blood work and diagnostic tests depending on your type of coverage and if the doctors are in your network. Flexible spending benefits provide another option to help with the cost of treatment, however, we are not able to file these claims. If your insurance plan does not cover male hormone replacement therapy, we offer payment plan options.

Who Should Not Use Testosterone Replacement Therapy?

Several conditions may increase your risk for prostate cancer including high testosterone levels. If you have health issues or any other serious health condition, please notify your Medical Provider right away.
